What is Usb 3.0
Just got a dell inspiron 3521 and I read that there is a usb
3.0 port on my system, first question I ask was that to what end, what can USB 3.0
do that USB 2.0 cannot do and even if I know what USB 3.0 can do how can I identify the
usb 3.0 because they all look the same to me, and that’s why I look outside for
answers and am also here to give you details of my findings.
Usb 3.0 is definitely an upgrade of Usb 2.0 it is faster
during data transfer charges your phone faster while charging your phone on the
system.
It might actually shock you to know that not all the usb
port on your laptop are meant for the same purpose. While charging your phone
on your laptop you might have noticed that some port charges faster than others
when you connect your phone to it. This might be as a result of a faulty data
cable or might be that you connected your phone to a slow charging usb port.
All you should do is to connect it to the usb meant for charging of phone.
Here three ways to identify usb 3.0
Usb 3.0 symbol
Check your laptops usb port and look for the following
symbols:
You might find the above three symbols or probably find two
with the same symbol, you might find Usb 3.0 symbol and also find the USB
charging port symbol on a single port what is means is that you it is USB 3.0
and its also charges your device faster when plugged. Most of the systems that
are released now will have only one USb 2.0 port because USB 3.0 is better and
most people prefer it. There will also be only one charging port.
2. USB port Colour
Another way by which you can identify USB 3.0 is by
observing the colour check all your usb post and look for one that is coloured
blue like below picture.
In most cases if the manufacturer didn’t put a symbol on the
port the will probably put the blue colour on the USB 3.0 port. This will also
make it easier for you to identify.
This doesn’t mean that port that don’t have charging symbol
wont charge your device its just that the one meant for charging will charge
your device faster. So next time you plugging your device try to take not of
this.
so Hence forth use your Usb port the right way.
