Jotters and pen are almost going extinct now thanks to smart
phones and tablets, during the era of pen and paper you take your jotter with
you anywhere you want to go in case you come across something important that
you want to put down. But nowadays mobile devices comes with notepad which you
can use to take any note you want to take without it get bulky in your hand,
and this has eliminated the need of carrying jotters all around.
Most times you
don’t even need to type notes from another note all you need to do is snap it ,
thank God for cameras on our devices and the pictures taking can then be
converted into text b=y apps like Google keep which can detect images and turn
it into text. Take Measure App
Another great application is Take Measure which is a free
Android Application which can turn camera into something you can measure with,
all you need is an A4 paper. This app allows you to place the object you want
to measure next to An A4 paper and Photograph the together. All it does is
relate the object to the size of the A4 paper, the app will finds the size of
the object relative to the A4 paper.
Install Takemeasure App on your device and allow it to be
connected to your camera. After installation put the object you wish to measure
on a flat surface and place the A4 paper alongside with it. Open the
takemeasure Application and use your device to take a photo of the two object
you placed side by side.
After you have taken the picture, you will have to help the
app to identify the A4 papers dimension. Move the large circle out so that the
lines that are controlled by the circles are align by the edges of the paper in
the image. The circles align with the corners of the paper. After this process
tap the check mark button at the bottom left. Two large circles that move the
end of the line will appear on the image. Position the circle from one end to
another end of the object you are measuring and this will give you the length
in inches.
If you try to measure the object out real you will see that
the application is fairly accurate ad is better where you need it to work.
Though it shouldn’t be used when you need a perfect measurement but this can
give you an idea of what the size of an object is.
The application also allows you to change object to be use
in measuring from A4 paper to a US letter Sheet or even dollar notes of
1,5,10,20,50 and 100 dollar denomination. If you want to change the object you
want to use to measure all you need to do is tap US Letter Sheet at the bottom
of the apps screen. You can also change the units of measurement from inches to
millimeters, centimeters , meter or feet from settings on the applications.
